For Tax Year 2026, covering income from July 2025 to June 2026, FBR extended the individual return deadline to 31 October 2026.

Deadlines can change, so confirm the latest date on fbr.gov.pk before you rely on any article, including this one.
What late filing costs
From 1 July 2026, individuals who file late pay a PKR 25,000 surcharge to return to the Active Taxpayer List. FBR has discussed other routes for late filers, so check fbr.gov.pk before you pay anything.
Why Active Taxpayer List status matters
Filers generally pay lower withholding tax on banking, property and vehicle transactions than non-filers. Rates change with each Finance Act, so ask me for the current figures for your case.
If you missed the deadline
- File as soon as possible
- Gather your CNIC, salary slips or bank statements
- Message me and I will confirm the cost before I start
